Wingate helps Santa give out his gifts

Once again this year, the students of Wingate School Year 12 have assisted The Tenerife South Lions, in gathering various toys and gifts for the children of the local orphanages. And what a successful year it has been! All the Year 12 students wish to thank the parents and students of the school, for the marvellous support and help they gave in donating and in some cases wrapping the toys.

The children received their presents from Father Christmas and his elves (The Lions and volunteer Wingate students) whilst enjoying a fun day at Aqualand. And a very Merry Christmas was had by all.

Year 12 designed the posters, wrote to parents, did presentations to year groups and collected donated gifts every morning. Finally came the sorting and wrapping and yet more funds will be raised by the Toy Sale to be held on Tuesday where all the money will also be given to the Tenerife South Lions so that it can be used to support those in need. Christmas is a time of enchantment for youngsters and we are so glad to have been able to help bring some of that to so many little ones.
