Junior Newsletter dated 11th September 2017

Dear All,

Firstly, I would like to welcome our two new teachers, Miss Hall and Mr Johnson. I'm sure they will be made to feel very welcome in the Juniors.

PE is still timetabled for THURSDAYS. The children will need to come to school in their PE kits, which they will then wear for the rest of the day. Full PE uniform must be worn and trainers must be blue or white. Girls are not allowed to wear earrings. The children will also need plenty of water to take down to the pitch.

A reminder that lunch ordered from the Tuck Shop should be placed using the Tuck Order Forms. They need to be sent into school on the MONDAY morning with that week's order and money. In order to avoid the money being lost, please send the order form and money into school in a sealed envelope. Order forms can be obtained from your class teacher or the school website.

Mobile phones are not allowed in the Junior department.

A reminder, that as stated in the Junior handbook, any children who are taken out of school for a holiday during term time will not be given homework or be set work which they will be missing.

As some of you may be aware, in the UK Macmillan Cancer Support will be holding the World's Biggest Coffee morning on Friday 29th September. We would like to join this special day and hold our own coffee morning for parents, with all money collected going towards our local cancer charity. The coffee morning will be held in the school hall from 9.15am - 11am. A parent, Mrs Secoy, has kindly agreed to help organise the morning. It would be great to see lots of parents enjoying a slice of cake and cup of coffee after the morning drop off.

Activities; All children in Fuerteventura and Lanzarote houses will need to wear their PE kits on Fridays, for the afternoon activity lessons until half term.

All Upper Key stage children have a homework diary. Year 3 children have a Home School Record. These are to be used as a Reading Record and as a communication tool between parents and teacher.

Mr Hamment will be holding a gymnastics club after school on Mondays 4-5pm. If your child is interested please contact your form teacher.

Many thanks,
Mrs Estevez
Head of Juniors
