Dear Parents / Guardians,

Thank you once again for your continued generosity:

We had a thank you letter from Kairos in the north who distributed your food donations to 126 families in need of support.

It was a pleasure to welcome many parents to our Remembrance Service – we received emails of praise from the parents that attended, congratulating the outstanding behaviour and respect that the children showed – we were very proud of them.

We now have our toy collection for the orphans of Tenerife is in full swing. If you wish to donate a present please could you wrap them and label Girl or Boy and age.

We also received many treats for Diwali!

Changes to calendar: We have just been informed that Monday 7th January is now an official Fiesta Day across Spain and the Canaries. The school will reopen on Tuesday 8th January although the A Level exam will still take place on Monday 7th at 09.00 in the Hall (at least it will be very quiet!). We will extend the school year by 1 day in June so the school will now close for the summer at 12.30 on Friday 28 June.

School Web site: We are constantly trying to improve our website so the content is relevant and up-to-date. Please make this your first ‘port of call’ for any general enquiries or questions.

Uniform - Winter is here!: During the winter months, Senior students are allowed to wear their tracksuit. During the school day, they can wear their school sweatshirt but they are not allowed to wear any other type of sweatshirt or hoody. The Uniform Shop has an ample supply of school sweatshirts which can be ordered through the school office should you need to purchase one. It is very important that all uniform is named – enabling us to to return lost items.

This brings me nicely to the ongoing battles with student´s hair. Please refer to our website via the following link:

It states: short & tidy hair for boys. The huge ‘mops’ on the top are not acceptable or if their hair is over their eyes. Please use this Policy (and me!) to reinforce to your sons what is appropriate for our school. Girls hair must be their natural colour, no coloured streaks (also no nail varnish or false nails and only 1 pair of ear studs please).

Reports & Exams: Years 7 to 10 will have most of their exams from Wednesday 12th December to Wednesday 19th. Years 11, 12 & 13 Progress Reports will be sent home in the last week of this term. Year 11 will have their Mock IGCSE Exams from January 14th to 18th.

Invoicing: Please could all parents check that they have as an accepted contact on your contact list to ensure easy communication. Some parents have reported that correspondence from this email address has gone straight to their Spam box. The office also needs to be advised of any changes to contact details: telephone numbers, addresses and email addresses.

Upcoming December events: Please check the school website and the calendar but busy few weeks ahead:

Juniors School Play: ‘Oliver’ productions will be Monday 3rd 13.30, Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th at 19.30. Tickets will be on sale from the school office on Wednesday 28th November for €3.00.

Infants Nativity Plays: Wednesday 12th 14.00 & Thursday 13th at 09.15, see Mrs Pearson to book your seats

Siam Mall Carols: Once again we have been invited to sing in Siam Mall at 18.00 on Wednesday 19th, all welcome – the School Choir will appreciate everyone´s support.

School finishes: on Friday 21st at 15.45 and reopens Tuesday 8th January

Although I am sure I will see many of you before the end of term, may I take this (early) opportunity to wish you all a peaceful & happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year. Now I’m off to Iceland to get my turkey!

Thank you for your continued support.

Mr Colin Macrae
