Sixth Form
ages 16-18

Wingate School is growing and moving from strength to strength. Joining our Sixth Form is being part of the drive and commitment by staff and students to make Wingate Sixth Form Study Centre an environment of excellence for advanced learning.

You will find a constructive atmosphere, one where we are determined to ensure that your time here is successful and you achieve the best academic results you can. Our small class sizes are an ideal setting for you to learn, discuss and develop the all-important questioning and reasoning skills that will help you maximise your potential at A Level. We have a team of highly qualified, expert teachers with a track record of success. Part of our school ethos is that we are a family and as such, we help and support each other. This means that the student, the school and parents work together.

Entering Wingate Sixth Form is a big step. There are lots of challenges and opportunities, many exciting and many demanding. You will be expected to take responsibility for your own learning with the help, advice and support of your teachers, tutors and supervisors. The addition of a supervised study area within the Sixth Form is there to help you achieve the maximum academic success.

Alongside your studies you will have the opportunity to take on a range of responsibilities such as organising charity events or assisting with activities in school. Indeed, the expectation is that you do carry out extra-curricular activities based on your interests and future plans. We actively encourage you to undertake work experience in the holidays. These enhance your university or job applications and help make you a ‘well-rounded’ individual.

I draw your attention to the Sixth Form Prospectus in the Information for Parents drop down menu for more details on the Sixth Form and subjects you can study here.

Wherever you see yourself in the future, Wingate Sixth Form is the ideal location to start you on your journey to advanced level learning.
