Dear All,

As Christmas approaches the Year 12s have chosen to help a local volunteer group called No One Without Food and the food bank operated from Tenerife South Family church. No One Without Food have been looking after vulnerable families in the south of the island since the Lockdown took hold and are currently supporting families with children ranging from 9 months to 13 years old. As you can imagine, Christmas will be a struggle for them this year. Therefore, in order to support them, Year 12 are asking Wingate families to donate items to support these children. They are asking for the following items to be donated by each class;

3E: Baby nappies - sizes 3 and 4
3S: Baby nappies - sizes 5 and 6

4B: Powdered milk or baby milk for ages 6 to 12 months and 1+

5S and 5M: Baby accessories; moisturiser, wipes, baby shampoo, baby lotion etc

6M: Teenager personal hygiene items; soap, shampoo, shower gel, sponges etc
6J: Toothpastes, toothbrushes and deodorant spray

If a student or family would prefer, they can make a small cash donation instead.
As always, I am sure that we can count on the generosity of all of our Wingate families to help support these less fortunate children at Christmas.
There will also be a Mufti Day on Friday 4th December. For a 1 euro donation the children can come to school dressed in their own clothes. 100% of all monies collected will be donated to the two charities.
6J and 5M will be playing sports in their Activities session on Friday so wearing shorts and trainers will be advisable for Mufti Day.

A reminder that Monday 7th and Tuesday 8th December are fiesta days - school is closed.

Finally, please see the 2 attached links from the office, which include helpful and concise information from the Gobierno de Canarias.

Have a good week,
Mrs L Estevez
