Dear All,

A quiet week ahead - I think!

You will be delighted to know that the change to all charity events being run over just 1 week this academic year, was a huge success.

AECC, Cancer research: a combination of the school choir and Infant School sponsored events raised €2500
The Junior School raised money for Autism and raised €1034
Tommy's Charity to help save baby lives raised €438
FACT cancer charity, Year 7 raised €384
The rest of the Seniors wanted to focus on more community based projects:
Year 8 went to the Food bank and helped donating food and helping out at the food bank.
Years 9 & 10 completed beach cleans and the reports from the organisation that guided them were outstanding.
Year 11 went to Live Arico for the morning and helped by donating items, walking dogs and general cleaning duties. Again the reports back were they were very grateful and the students did an excellent job.

All in all a huge thank you to all parents, guardians and students who supported the various charities and events.

The Senior children are starting exams next week which may affect some of our PE lessons in the next few weeks but please bring your PE things as normal.
Nursery - Next week - No PE on Tuesday. PE on Thursday as usual.

Uniform - Please check jumpers again. Kiara´s jumper (Nursery) is still missing.
Can I also remind you that school shoes should not be trainer style, PE trainers should be plain white, and girls socks plain white (no frills or bows please). Boys socks navy, not black.

The children have been given a letter today regarding our school excursion to La Maresia in two weeks. Please complete the form and return to school next week.

Powerwave for Parents - If anyone is interested in getting a little fitter for the Summer there are now Powerwave classes for parents on Tuesdays at 4pm.(see attachment) 6€ a session which involves a good workout with weighted sand bags in only half an hour! For more information please contact the school office, or see me - I´ve done the classes!!

Finally, a reminder that 7th May is the last day for giving notice for children leaving Wingate at the end of the academic year in order to protect your deposit.

Have a good weekend!
