Dear All,

The Arona Ayuntamiento have organised a plastic recycling competition called " Mi cole recicla " for schools with a chance to win prizes. Unfortunately we are too late to join this one but they have agreed to let the school join the next one. They will be bringing 3 plastic recycle bins to the school today to be placed in the top car park. This will be great to start getting the students involved with recycling and get them used to using the bins before the next competition. Please see the links below for more information.

Following the success of our parent workshops last year, we are looking for parents/carers again this year who would like to volunteer their services in leading the workshops. If you have a special skill or talent that you would like to share with a group of Junior children, we would love to hear from you as soon as possible. Perhaps you are fluent in an additional language; you are a keen knitter; you know how to perform magic tricks or teach zumba. Whatever your skills and talents, the Junior children of Wingate School would really benefit from the opportunity of learning an additional skill, to enhance the National Curriculum. The workshops will be running during the Spring Term from Friday 15th March 2019 to Friday 5th April 2019 , every Friday afternoon from 2.15pm - 3.15pm. At present 3 parents have kindly volunteered. However, in order for the workshops to run we need 4 more parents. If you would be able to volunteer your skills please respond by email or come to see me directly.

Many thanks,
Mrs L Estevez

Head of Juniors
WINGATE SCHOOL.
